Welcome to the Tuxedo Ridge Winter Sports Academy. We have created a unique choice of programs tailored to the winter enthusiast. Whether you ride or ski, whether you are starting out or just brushing up on your skills, there is a program to get you where you want to go!

Race Academy


We to Welcome to the Tuxedo Ridge Race Academy.  Beginning in the 2008/2009 Ski Season Tuxedo Ridge is excited to announce the addition of Race Director Dana Ianillo (USSA FIS coach).  Dana has put together one of the best coaching staffs in the eastern region. 

 About Dana:  Dana has introduced many young athletes to Prep Schools, NJCAA Schools, USCSA & NCAA Schools.  He can do the same for your young athlete when the time comes.  His programs are designed for J5 to J1 Racers. 

Weekend Programs:

Race Program - J1, J2, J3 Racers

DATES: Program runs 4 nights a week (Mon - Thurs), 2 hours per night, plus weekend training or racing.  Program begins Tuesday, Januray 5, 2009 - Thursday, February 26, 2009.

COST: $640 plus a discounted season pass for $100 (64+ hours of training or racing over an 8 week period.)

ELIGIBILITY: J1 - Ages 17-19 (born 1989, 1990, 1991); J2 - Ages 15 - 16 (born 1992, 1993); J3 - Ages 13-14 (born 1994, 1995).

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: This is an intense 8 week program for the serious J1 - J2 - J3 racers.  This program is designed to bring a racers USSA points below 120 in at least two disciplines.  This will allow these racers to qualify for FIS races.  We will also be racing in the NYSSRA trophy series to qualify racers for the Empire State Games held in Lake Placid, Whiteface Mt. at the end of February.  Groups average about 10 skiers per group and are split based on ability and age.

 

Race Program - J4 & J5 Racers

 

DATES: Program runs weekends beginning Saturday, January 3, 2009 and ending Sunday, February 22nd from 9:00am – 1:45pm with a 45 minute minute unsupervised break. This Program is also available to racers on Tuesday and Thrusday evenings from 6:30pm - 8:30pm.

COST: $640 plus a discounted season pass for $100 (64+ hours of training or racing over an 8 week period.)

ELIGIBILITY: J4 - Ages 11-12 (born 1996, 1997); J5 - Ages 10 and under (born 1998 or later).

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: This is an intense 8 week program for the serious J4 & J5 racers.  We will be racing in NYSSRA.  Groups average about 10 skiers per group and are split based on ability and age. 

 

 

Developmental Program - J5 Skiers

 

DATES: Program runs weekends beginning Saturday, January 3, 2008 and ending Sunday, February 22nd from 9:00am – 1:45pm with a 45 minute minute unsupervised break.

COST: $450 plus a discounted season pass for $100 (64 hours of training over an 8 week period.)

ELIGIBILITY: J5 - Ages 10 and under (born 1998 or later) and can function in a group environment.  All children must be able to ride the chairlift alone, make controlled linked turns down the Bunny Hill and stop on command.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: This program will help develop skills to enable the child to be self sufficient on the slopes. The child will be introduced to skiing and racing fundamentals and the skier safety code in a fun, supportive group environment. Groups average about 10 skiers per group and are split based on ability and age

Junior Snowboard Program

DATES: Program runs weekends beginning Saturday, January 3, 2009 and ending Sunday, February 22, 2009 from 9:15am – 1:45pm with a 30 minute unsupervised break (at 11:15am).

COST: $640 for 8 weekends (plus a discounted season pass of $100).

ELIGIBILITY: Open to children over six who can function in a group. Also, must be able to ride the lift alone, make controlled linked turns down the Bunny Hill and stop on command.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: This program will help develop skills to enable the child to be self sufficient on the slopes. The child will be introduced to snowboarding fundamentals and the skier/snowboarder safety code in a fun, supportive group environment. Groups average about 10 snowboarders per group and are split based on ability and age. Can be a beginner.
